Crotone’s Nigerian striker Simy Nwankwo celebrated scoring against champions Juventus in Serie A on Saturday by displaying a shirt with the inscription: #EndPoliceBrutalityInNigeria just as Victor Osimhen did earlier when he scored for Napoli.
Crotone took the lead with a Simy penalty in the 12th minute, before Alvaro Morata levelled from Chiesa’s assist nine minutes later.
Juventus, missing Cristiano Ronaldo after he tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, thought they had scored a winner when Morata turned the ball in from close range in the 77th minute, but a long VAR review showed his heel was offside.
Juve, chasing a 10th straight title, have eight points from four games while Crotone picked up their first point.
Inter Milan 1 – 2 Ac Milan
AC Milan’s striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who recently recovered from a COVID-19 infection, scored an early brace to secure a 2-1 win over neighbours Inter in the Serie A derby on Saturday.
The Swedish striker put Milan in front after 13 minutes, tapping the ball in from the rebound after his penalty was saved by Samir Handanovic.
He then struck again three minutes later after latching on a Rafael Leao’s cross.
In a breathless first half, Romelu Lukaku pulled one back for inter in the 29th minute, the first Serie A goal Milan have conceded this season.
Inter were awarded a penalty in the 75th minute but it was revoked for offside in the build-up.
Milan has won all four games so far and lead the standings with 12 points, while Inter has seven after their first defeat of the season.
