Controversial social media critic, Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman (VDM) has sworn that it’ll be over his dead body before he apologizes to billionaire socialite Obi Cubana.
It all started after VDM reignited his online feud with actress Iyabo Ojo and her partner Paulo. The clash escalated further when nightlife billionaire Obi Cubana commented on the ongoing altercation.
Cubana criticized blogs for giving platforms to people like VDM, allowing them to disrespect elders.
In his words: “Dear blogs, pls stop giving visibility to youth insulting elders! You enable them! We can’t continue to enable rubbish!!! Stop pls!!”.
VDM wasted no time in responding to Obi Cubana’s remarks. He accused Cubana of being a show-off and called him a disrespectful elder, claiming that he was of no use to the youth in the society.
Verydarkman accused Obi Cubana of being uncomfortable with his criticisms because they expose the wrongdoing of people like him.
In his scathing response, VDM labeled Obi Cubana as a greedy populist who has done nothing for Nigerian youths. He criticized Cubana for not supporting Nnamdi Kanu and alleged that the only contribution Cubana has made to the youth is providing easy access to alcohol. VDM concluded his tirade by accusing Cubana of being silent on important national issues while engaging in ostentatious displays of wealth.
Verydarkman stated that in his region, people don’t worship money, and he questioned Obi Cubana’s priorities, suggesting that he should focus on supporting the youth rather than trying to silence critics like himself.
He said: “The only reason why you people are angry is because this is the only person that can scatter a lot of evil things in you people’s faces. The youths dey cry since them never hear your voice for one day for one important thing na to carry money dey spray up and down dey use am dey buy people conscience. The youths are looking for employment in Nigeria you dey carry alcohol come Nigeria come drop for them. We don’t worship money my brother man as una wan dey chuk mouth for wetin no concern una.”
However, Nigerian singer Portable defended Obi Cubana, stating that he has benefitted from his association with him, including the N50 million ambassadorial deal with Odogwu Bitters.
Nigerians have taken to social media to express their reactions. Some noted that while he admires Obi Cubana, VDM’s points should not be dismissed outright. Another compared VDM to Portable, highlighting their controversial nature but noting VDM’s better command of English.
In the midst of all the back and forth, Tunde Ednut who is a close friend to both parties, and a benefactor to VDM, reached out to Verydarkman, asking him to delete the post and apologize,for peace to reign.
Verydarkman blatantly refused, maintaining that he rather dies than delete the post or apologize for his statements.
He posted screenshots of his conversations with Tunde Ednut, alongside the caption which reads;
“With all due respect @mazitundeednut I know l’m not supposed to post this but at this point this is a warning that anybody that calls me in respect of anyone I will post your chats, it’s crazy how the world didn’t drag tunde ednut when their billionaire threw his shot but when I responded una start to drag the innocent man, anyways if anybody needs an apology the person should apologize to me first…I don’t worship money,I don’t worship man,I worship my ancestors and God……peace out.
