American disc jockey DJ Khaled has urged fans to reach out to Rihanna to persuade her to feature on his upcoming album.
Khaled made this known while he was interviewed on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show. Khaled revealed that he had sent Rihanna a song he wanted her to feature in, and he asked her followers to support him in getting her to sing a verse on the song.
“I just sent her [Rihanna] a record that I want her to get on. I need y’all to help me get the message to her,” he pleaded with the audience.
DJ Khaled’s upcoming 14th studio album, ‘Til Next Time,’ is expected to arrive later this year.
The music star disclosed in an interview with Rolling Stone last year that Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy would be on the album. He also revealed that Afrobeats is one of the inspirations for his new album.
Rihanna, on the other hand, had been on sabbatical. Her only musical release in recent years was her soundtrack for Black Panther 2, ‘Lift Me Up,’ which was co-written by Oscar-nominated Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems.
She has however promised her fans that they shoud expect an upcoming album. She stated that while she is ready to go back into the studio and start over, she doesn’t want to ignore the songs she already has, so she plans to go back and listen to them again from a fresh angle, seeing what resonates and what she truly loves.
