UCL: Bayern Munich obliterate Zagreb

Bayern Munich kicked off their Champions League campaign with a ruthless show of dominance over Dinamo Zagreb, thrashing them 9-2.

England Captain, Harry Kane, did the bulk of the damage bagging four goals out of the nine, to become the highest-scoring Englishman in European Cup history with 33 goals, surpassing former Man United forward, Wayne Rooney who held the record with 30 goals.Β

Having trailed 3-0 at halftime, Zagreb capitalized on some lapses from the host and pulled back two goals through Bruno Petkovic and Takuya Ogiwara.Β

It looked like they were set to find their way back into the game, but Vincent Kompany’s men quickly reminded them of who was in charge, increasing the tally.

Michael Olise got a brace on his Champions League debut, and Raphael Guerreiro, Leroy Sane, and Leon Goretzka all got on the score sheet for Bayern, who are now the first team to score nine goals in a Champions League game.
