Off the back of a defeat to Man Utd in the FA which saw them get knocked out of the competition, Mikel Arteta’s men were desperate for a good result, but that seemed threatened when Son Heung-min put Spurs in front 25 minutes into the game.
As half time grew closer, the visitors let their lead slip when Dominic Solanke scored an own goal in the 40th minute, changing the tide of the game as Arsenal took the lead four minutes later thanks to Leandro Trossard’s goal.
After the break, Arsenal had the upper had but failed to take their chances and with Spurs barely getting in, the first half score line was enough to move The Gunners to second place, four points off Liverpool.
