Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has denied having any form of relationship with former BBNaija reality Star Nengi, let alone fathering her child.
Rumors had it that the reality star, Nengi has welcomed a child with the Bayelsa Governor, Diri Douye, who already has four wives.
Sharing the claims on Instagram with Nengi’s picture, controversial blogger Gistlover hinted at revealing more details, writing:
“SHALL WE?? By the way, she welcomed a child with a governor 🚶🚶🚶🚶🚶… 5th wife in the making? Make I talk abi make I face front? All these girls be doing the most, owo ijoba na yansh dey chop am… this gist is super messy… all the hide and seek don end ooo 🚶🚶🚶🚶🚶🚶.”
In reaction to the claims, the spokesperson of the Bayelsa Governor, Diri Douye, Dr. Kola Oredipe, has described the claims as “baseless fabrications”.
Oredipe said: “Nengi Rebecca Hampson has no personal relationship with Governor Diri. Regrettably, purveyors of fake news are not happy with the towering political profile of the governor.”
This is a distraction, and some of us are very justified in the many reasons offered to regulate the use of various social media platforms,” the Governor’s aide added.
“Sadly, while we were inaugurating a brand new road in Yenagoa, social media e-rats were spreading falsehoods about the governor.”
Also, Nengi while confirming her pregnancy, noted that that she isn’t pregnant for any governor, and would like to be allowed to enjoy her life and her pregnancy in peace.
Her words read:
“As much as I believe social media lies aren’t worth my time, I’ve come to accept that we live in a world where people are quick to spread lies without limits so let me be clear, I’m not pregnant for any Governor.
I’ve chosen to speak coz this isn’t just an attack on me, it involves people I hold in the highest regard, and I won’t allow a beautiful, personal part of my life be turned into something ugly.
While I continue to mind my own business and enjoy my pregnancy in PEACE, I wish y’all Love and a happy Valentine’s weekend.”
