The Ogun State Police Command has dismissed singer Portable’s claim of having psychiatric issues, insists he must submit himself as requested.
Less than 48 hours after the Ogun State Police Command declared controversial singer Habeeb ‘Portable’ Okikiola wanted, he took to social media to state that he was psychologically unstable and undergoing medical treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta.

He made the statement while pleading with Nigerians and the Ogun State Government, insisting that he had never been rude to the government, emphasising that he always held them in high regard.
However, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Omolola Odutola, maintained that Portable must surrender himself for investigation.
“Portable will come and submit himself. He cannot be in the psychiatric hospital in Aro. Everybody knows he is a wanted person. If he is in any facility, the police must be informed. He is a wanted man,” Odutola said.
According to the police, he ignored multiple invitations after nine of his protégés whom he sent to attack government officials, were arrested and arraigned before an Abeokuta Magistrate Court.
Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola stated that he has now been declared wanted on charges of conspiracy, illegal possession of arms, and attempted murder.
She added that the officers’ bodily injuries and Portable’s refusal to honour police invitations escalated the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further action.
