Nollywood actress Regina Chukwu recently opened up about one of the most heartbreaking moments in her life, the death of her husband.
In a candid interview, Regina recounted the painful experience of watching her young husband battle a terminal illness, which eventually led to his untimely death. According to her, the sickness got so bad that at some point, he could no longer bear the pain. Out of desperation, he pleaded with her to help end his suffering by injecting him with poison.
“He said to me, ‘Regina, please just inject me with something so I can sleep. I can’t take this anymore,’” she recalled, with emotion in her voice.
Regina, who was just in her early twenties at the time, said the moment broke her. She was left alone with two children and had to start life all over again. She shared that it was one of the darkest periods of her life, and she didn’t think she would ever make it out strong.
“I watched my husband die slowly. It was not just the pain of losing him, but the helplessness of not being able to do anything to ease his suffering,” she said.
Today, Regina is a proud single mum and a survivor who has worked hard to rebuild her life. She continues to inspire many women with her story of strength, resilience, and growth after loss.
