Tiwa Savage Cuts Ties With Former Manager, Issues Warning to Promoters

Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage has officially announced that she’s no longer working with her longtime manager, Kemi “Mekka” Akunyili.

In a post shared on her social media, the award-winning singer revealed that she has now partnered with a new manager, Vanessa Amadi, and urged all show promoters and business partners to reach out to Vanessa for bookings moving forward.

Tiwa’s announcement comes amid reports that some promoters are still contacting Mekka, which she says could lead to financial loss, as any booking not made through the right channel will be considered invalid.

Her statement read:
“I do not work with Mekka anymore. Please for booking contact Vanessa Amadi. Any bookings that go through any other channel will be void, and you will lose your money.

“Abeg e don do. I have NOTHING TO DO WITH MEKKA. Even if it goes through him and eventually gets to me I will refuse the booking. I have said it so many times but you people still call him for bookings. I hate coming on social media for this but I can’t reach every promoter individually. I just got a call that money for a booking I have coming up was just paid to his personal account. You people will lose your money. I’m saying it again for the last time because I will not be responsible for you losing your money.”

She added that she doesn’t like addressing such issues online, but she had no choice since many people were still unaware of the change.
