Donald Trump Considers Presidential Pardon for Diddy Combs Amid Federal Conviction

Donald Trump is reportedly seriously considering issuing a presidential pardon to Sean “Diddy” Combs before his sentencing set for October 3, 2025. Diddy was found guilty on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution, though he was acquitted of the more severe sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

The idea of clemency isn’t new, Trump first commented on the possibility during Diddy’s trial in May, saying he hadn’t been asked formally but would “certainly look at the facts” if someone made the request. Now, insiders tell Deadline and other outlets that the pardon is being actively discussed within the White House, though no official papers have been filed yet.

If granted, the pardon would effectively erase Diddy’s prison term, despite facing a maximum potential sentence of 20 years. While legal analysts expect his actual sentence to be shorter, probably two to three years, the pardon could allow him to walk free without spending more time behind bars.

Trump and Diddy once shared a social friendship in the 1990s and early 2000s in New York’s elite circles, though their relationship unraveled after Diddy endorsed Joe Biden in 2020 and publicly criticized Trump. Meanwhile, rapper 50 Cent, a longtime rival of Diddy has pledged to reach out to Trump to oppose the pardon, citing respect and past disses between the two men.

As of now, Diddy remains behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, and his team is also exploring a $50 million bond for release pending appeal or sentencing.

Whether this move becomes reality depends on Trump’s final decision and whether any formal pardon request is filed. One thing’s clear: this controversial case is now intersecting with presidential power, celebrity influence and headlines that don’t quit.
