It’s a season of joy for Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo as she pours out heartfelt prayers for her daughter, Priscilla Ojo, and Tanzanian singer, Juma Jux, as they get ready to welcome their first child together.
Taking to Instagram, Iyabo shared stunning photos from the couple’s Tanzanian maternity shoot and blessed their journey into parenthood. “@juma_jux & @its.priscy, as you both prepare for this beautiful journey of parenthood, may the Lord go ahead and perfect everything. Lord, I’m grateful and mindful of your goodness,” she wrote.
The actress’s excitement has been building over the past few weeks. Just last month, Priscilla and Juma announced their pregnancy in a joint Instagram post, proudly showing off Priscilla’s baby bump. The news was quickly followed by a lavish baby shower on July 27 in Canada, where Priscilla is set to give birth. Friends, family, and celebrities including Iyabo herself and actress Lola Alao joined in to celebrate.
Iyabo, in her speech at the event, made a touching declaration that although her own marriage did not last, her daughter’s marriage would flourish. “I’ve paid the price for you to have a happy and long-lasting home,” she told Priscilla, urging mothers to speak blessings over their children and break any negative patterns that may have run in the family.
Earlier in July, the actress had also hinted at her plans for the baby’s arrival, revealing she intends to host a grand naming ceremony in Lagos once Priscilla completes her omugwo — the traditional postpartum care period. While she initially didn’t want a baby shower to avoid social media drama, she later changed her mind, saying God’s blessings should never be hidden.
