Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Mr. Ossai Ovie Success, has stirred controversy following his strong allegations against the organizers of Big Brother Naija Season 10. Ossai claimed that the just-concluded reality show was manipulated to prevent a contestant from Delta State, Dede, from emerging as the winner.
The heated accusation came shortly after the show’s finale on Sunday night, where Imisi was announced as the ultimate winner of the “10/10” edition of BBNaija. The season, which premiered on July 26, 2025, featured 29 housemates—15 women and 14 men—competing fiercely for 71 days for the grand prize worth ₦150 million.

While fans across Nigeria and beyond celebrated Imisi’s victory, Ossai’s reaction cast a shadow of controversy over what had been an otherwise exciting conclusion to one of the country’s most-watched reality shows. Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the media aide expressed dissatisfaction with the final results, describing them as “unfair and politically motivated.”
According to Ossai, Dede, who finished as the first runner-up, was the rightful winner but was denied the title because of her Delta State origin. He alleged that the show’s producers deliberately decided against allowing another contestant from Delta to win two years in a row, following Kellyrae’s victory in the previous season.
“Dede was robbed by the BBNaija organizers because Delta boy Kellyrae won last year’s season,” Ossai wrote. “They didn’t want another Delta contestant to take the crown this year. She truly deserved to win Big Brother Naija, not settle for second place.”
Ossai’s post quickly went viral, igniting debate among fans and social media users. While some supported his claims, arguing that Dede was one of the most consistent and entertaining housemates throughout the season, others dismissed the accusation as baseless and reflective of regional bias.

Critics of Ossai’s statement accused him of politicizing a reality show meant purely for entertainment. “BBNaija is a game of public votes and house dynamics,” one X user commented. “If Dede didn’t win, it’s because the votes weren’t enough—not because of where she’s from.”
However, supporters of Dede’s camp insist that the show’s voting process lacked transparency. Some fans complained of technical glitches during the final voting rounds, claiming that attempts to cast votes for Dede were unsuccessful. “Many of us tried voting and got error messages,” one fan posted. “It’s suspicious that it happened right before the finale.”
As of now, the organizers of Big Brother Naija—MultiChoice Nigeria and Endemol Shine Africa—have not issued an official response to Ossai’s allegations. Historically, the show has faced similar accusations of vote manipulation in past seasons, though no concrete evidence has ever been presented to substantiate such claims.
Despite the uproar, Imisi’s supporters continue to celebrate her win, describing it as well-deserved. Throughout the season, Imisi stood out for her charisma, emotional intelligence, and strong alliances in the house. Her journey was marked by resilience, and many fans believe she earned the title fair and square.
The controversy surrounding Ossai’s outburst underscores the immense cultural influence of Big Brother Naija in Nigeria. Each season tends to spark nationwide conversations, blending entertainment, politics, and social identity in ways few other TV shows manage.
Whether Ossai’s accusations will lead to a formal inquiry or fade away as yet another post-finale debate remains to be seen. For now, BBNaija Season 10 will be remembered not only for Imisi’s triumph but also for the storm of allegations that followed—adding yet another dramatic twist to a franchise already known for its unpredictability.
