Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has sparked massive reactions online after revealing that he is open to the idea of an open marriage.
In a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast, the “Back In Uni” crooner explained that most couples experience a decline in sexual activity as the years go by, largely due to routine and lack of variety.
According to Blaqbonez, it’s completely fine for a married partner to be intimate with someone else when their spouse isn’t available — as long as both parties remain emotionally dedicated to each other.

“I don’t mind having an open marriage. Most married couples don’t keep having the same amount of sex they were having at the beginning. It reduces,” he said.
“If somebody is satisfying her sexually while I’m hustling, touring, and not available, that’s okay. There’s more to marriage than sex. I don’t mind that you’re sleeping with someone else provided you’re dedicated to me.”
The Chocolate City rapper added that no outsider could easily replace the deep bond he would share with his wife.
“It will be difficult for a random person to match up with what I’ve built with her. Nobody can just get her sexually and also mentally addicted to them. They probably can’t make her laugh the way I do.”
Blaqbonez also revealed that if he ever decides to get married, he would prefer to have two separate rooms — one for himself and another for his wife — only meeting when they both desire intimacy.
His remarks have since triggered mixed reactions across social media, with fans divided between labeling him “realistic” and “unromantic.”
