Nigerian Afro-house queen Niniola Apata has cleared the air on speculations suggesting she secretly tied the knot.
Rumours had circulated online that the “Maradona” hitmaker’s recent low profile was due to marriage. However, in a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, Niniola firmly dismissed the claims, stating that she is not married and has no reason to hide her marital status.
“I don’t care whatever anyone does or says [regarding my personal life]. After all, I’m not a 12-year-old. I’m old enough to say whatever it is I want to say with my full chest. I’m not married,”
the 38-year-old singer declared.
Niniola also addressed questions about why she has yet to collaborate with her younger sister, popular singer Teni. According to her, such a collaboration will happen at the right time and under the right circumstances.
Emphasising that music is business, she added that there’s “no family in business,” stressing the importance of professionalism in the industry.
