The lawmaker representing Borno South in the National Assembly, Sen. Ali Ndume has advocated for a swift and decisive elimination of bandits who go about killing innocent people and raping women and children.
Ndume who made the call in an interview session on Monday, while responding to a question on the fundamental rights of the bandits, stated that the terrorists do not have human rights due to the atrocities they have committed including killing of civilians and children in northern states including Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Borno, Kaduna, Plateau abd others.
He noted that since the Boko Haram insurgents began their murderous operations, not less than 8,000 innocent Nigerians have been killed and as such, no one should even talk about their human rights.
While responding to the question, Ndume said bandits have no human rights and should be killed immediately whenever they are identified.
“Bandits have no human rights and if we can identify the bandits that have been killing people recklessly, you don’t have to waste time to kill them.
“When we start talking about human rights, which rights? What of the rights of the people killed, children and women raped by these people?
“And when our Nigerian soldiers stand up to fight these people, they kill our soldiers, use IEDs against our soldiers and you are talking about their human rights?
“This is very unfortunate, I must say. So what do you want the military to do? Not to do the fight? Not to have casualties?” he asked in anger.
