SHOCKER: TikTok Suspends Night LIVE Over Sexual Content—Peller Defends Creators While Flaunting Multi-Million Naira Deals!

Nigerian TikTok star Peller has brushed off concerns that he will struggle financially after TikTok temporarily restricted night livestreams across the country.

The restriction, which took effect at midnight on Sunday, was announced through a system notification titled “LIVE Notices – TikTok LIVE Update in Nigeria.” The platform said the measure is part of an ongoing safety investigation aimed at protecting users.

Under the new rule, Nigerian creators cannot host or view LIVE broadcasts during the restricted hours, including streams from outside the country. The move has sparked anxiety among creators who depend on late-night engagement for visibility and income.

But Peller, one of Nigeria’s most recognisable TikTok personalities, said in an Instagram video on Monday night that critics were wrong to assume he would “go hungry” because of the change. He noted that his earnings are not solely dependent on livestreaming.

According to him, he makes significant income from multiple brand endorsement deals, each valued at a minimum of ₦40 million. He added that TikTok remains one of the fastest platforms for young Nigerians to build audiences and monetise their creativity.

“People are expecting me to be crying after TikTok banned live in Nigeria, thinking I’ll go hungry. I’m an ambassador to numerous brands, and none of my endorsements is less than ₦40 million.”

“Many people will grow on TikTok. You can’t grow on Instagram the same way. Before you make it there, you will post plenty… TikTok is easier to grow on.” He added.

Peller’s response comes as creators nationwide debate how the temporary restriction will affect engagement patterns, audience growth, and earnings—especially for those who rely heavily on nighttime traffic.
