The boxing world is in mourning after former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua opened up about the devastating car crash that claimed the lives of two of his closest inner-circle members.
In an emotional tribute shared on his verified Facebook page, AJ described the deep pain of losing his “brothers” in an incident that has sent shockwaves through the sports community.
The accident, which occurred on December 29, 2025, while the former champion was on holiday in Nigeria, resulted in the deaths of his personal trainer, Kevin “Latz” Latif Ayodele, and his strength coach, Sina Ghami. While Joshua survived the crash, the emotional toll has clearly been heavy.
In a post that balanced raw grief with spiritual reflection, Joshua admitted he didn’t realize the full impact his friends had on the world until they were gone.
“I’ll just be walking with them and cracking jokes with them, not even knowing God kept me in the presence of great men,” Joshua wrote.
The champion showed his characteristic humility, pivoting the focus away from his own trauma to acknowledge the families left behind. “100% it’s tough for me, but I know it’s even tougher for their parents,” he added, asking for mercy and prayers for his fallen comrades.
