Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has shocked fans and sparked renewed debate online after claiming she has yet to receive the full ₦100 million prize she won from the reality TV show back in 2022.
During a recent livestream with her followers, Phyna expressed frustration over the long-standing issue, saying that despite winning the competition, the promised ₦100 million prize package remains unpaid — contrary to what many Nigerians have believed for years.
According to her, she has been raising concerns about the missing prize since 2024, but fans and the public dismissed her complaints at the time, accusing her of lying or seeking attention. She said that repeated delays and a lack of clear communication have forced her to speak out again.
Phyna’s remarks have reignited conversations on social media, with some supporters sympathising and demanding transparency from organisers, while critics question her claims and motives. “So Biggie scammed her?” has become a trending question online as people debate whether the reality star is being truthful or whether the definition of the prize itself is part of the confusion.
While Multichoice Nigeria, the organisers of BBNaija, have maintained in the past that they fulfilled all contractual obligations to Phyna, she continues to dispute that assertion — insisting that part of the prize, including cash and other benefits, is still outstanding.
The situation has sparked fresh discussion about how reality show winnings are structured and delivered, with many Nigerians calling for greater clarity on prize fulfilment.
