In a decisive move to secure the North-Central axis, President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate deployment of an army battalion to Kaiama, Kwara State. The military intervention, codenamed Operation Savannah Shield, comes as a direct response to a harrowing overnight terrorist assault on the village of Worro.
The President didn’t mince words, condemning the “beastly” nature of the attack that claimed the lives of innocent villagers. Reports indicate that the victims were targeted specifically for their refusal to accept extremist indoctrination, a stand for freedom that the President hailed even in mourning.
The deployment aims to create a permanent security buffer in the region, preventing further incursions and restoring peace to a community shaken by violence. By moving a full battalion into the area, the administration is signaling a zero-tolerance policy toward the expansion of extremist ideologies and the preservation of communal sovereignty.
