Justine Madugu Names Super Falcons Squad for Cameroon Friendlies: See the Full List

Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has officially unveiled a 25-player roster for the upcoming high-stakes friendlies against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon. These matches, scheduled for February 28 and March 3 in Yaoundé, serve as the final dress rehearsal for Nigeria’s title defense at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

The headline news is the return of experienced midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene, who returns to the national fold after a long absence. Joining her is U.S.-based forward Gift Monday, who makes a comeback after being left out of last year’s squad.Madugu has also injected fresh blood into the team with maiden call-ups for:

  • Comfort Erhabor: The 20-year-old Portsmouth (England) goalkeeper.
  • Precious Christopher: A dynamic midfielder currently playing in Tanzania.

Noticeably absent from the list is star striker Asisat Oshoala. However, the squad remains formidable, led by captain Rasheedat Ajibade and world-class goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie. Defensive stalwarts Michelle Alozie, Osinachi Ohale, and Ashleigh Plumptre have also retained their spots to provide much-needed stability.

The 2026 WAFCON, kicking off on March 17, is more than just a continental trophy hunt. All four semi-finalists will earn automatic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. With Nigeria aiming for an unprecedented 11th title, these friendlies against Cameroon are a critical test of fitness and tactics.
