The Nollywood community and fans of comic actor Bamidele Tope Saint, widely known as Okemesi, are in a state of shock following reports that the content creator is currently in a coma. His colleague, Jeff Owolewa (also known as Tony Montana), broke the news in a heartbreaking video shared on Monday night, February 23, 2026. According to Owolewa, the actor’s condition took a drastic turn for the worse due to complications from medications administered during a previous hospital stay.
Just last week, there were signs of hope when the public rallied to rent a new apartment for Okemesi after he tearfully revealed he had become homeless and was battling a “spiritual attack” that left him partially paralyzed. However, the joy was short-lived. Owolewa explained that after being discharged last week, Okemesi became unresponsive and lost his appetite, leading to an emergency dash to the hospital on Monday morning. After being turned away by several facilities due to a lack of bed space, he was eventually readmitted to a private clinic where he is now on oxygen support.
