Popular Nigerian comedian and skit maker Broda Shaggi has reportedly been hospitalised after sustaining a gunshot injury in Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon while the comedian was filming a comedy skit under the Sango-Ota bridge. During the shoot, he allegedly sustained a gunshot wound, although the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.
Members of his crew quickly rushed him to Blooming Care Hospital in Alakuko, Lagos, where doctors administered first aid before he was later referred to another facility for further treatment.
Reports indicate that the entertainer suffered an injury to his thigh and is currently recuperating at a hospital in Ikeja, Lagos.
Police authorities confirmed that the hospital alerted them after the injured comedian was brought in, and an investigation has begun to determine what exactly happened at the filming location.
Officials from the Lagos State Police Command said the incident was reported by the hospital, while the alleged shooting location falls within Ogun State jurisdiction. Authorities say investigations are ongoing to clarify how the gunshot occurred.
