President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his congratulations to the management and staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) as the network celebrates its 75th anniversary today, Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the FRCN as a “dynamic, vibrant, and central” influence in Nigeria and across the continent. He specifically lauded the corporation for its role as Africa’s largest broadcast network—boasting 47 FM stations and six zonal stations—and for its decades of service as a “reliable two-way traffic medium” for information and education.
President Tinubu emphasized the FRCN’s historical significance, noting that it has captured Nigeria’s journey from the colonial era to its current post-colonial transition. He particularly highlighted the corporation’s reputation as a premier “training ground” for the continent’s finest broadcasters, producers, and sound engineers. As the station marks this Diamond Jubilee, the President urged the staff to remain committed to their founding slogan: “Uplifting the People and Uniting the Nation.”
