The Unity Cup is officially returning to its historic roots, with organizers announcing today, Wednesday, April 8, 2026, that Nigeria and Jamaica will headline the four-nation tournament in London this summer.
The event, which celebrates Afrocentric and global diaspora communities, is scheduled to take place from May 26 to May 30, 2026. In a sentimental move, the tournament returns to The Valley, the home of Charlton Athletic FC in South London, for the first time since 2004.
The Tournament Lineup
The 2026 edition features a revamped four-nation knockout format designed to showcase both sporting rivalry and cultural heritage:
- The Defending Champions: The Super Eagles of Nigeria return to defend their title after a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Jamaica in the 2025 final.
- The Reggae Boyz: Jamaica enters the tournament as a co-headliner, looking for redemption after narrowly missing out on last year’s trophy.
- The New Challengers: Zimbabwe (The Warriors) and India (The Blue Tigers) round out the four nations. This marks India’s first appearance in an international football tournament in the UK since 2002.
