The wait is over for the next set of “Otondos.” The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially released the schedule for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course, with the 21-day exercise set to begin on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
The announcement, signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, confirms that orientation activities will take place simultaneously across all 36 states and the FCT.
The Official Timeline
Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) should take note of these non-negotiable dates:
- Commencement/Registration: Wednesday, April 22 – Friday, April 24, 2026.
- Registration Cut-off: The portal and camp gates will close strictly at midnight on Friday, April 24.
- Swearing-in Ceremony: Friday, April 24, 2026.
- Closing Ceremony: Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
Call-up Letters & Logistics
- Printing Call-up Letters: Notification and printing of call-up letters will be available on the NYSC portal between April 19 and April 21, 2026.
- Call-up Numbers: Management confirmed yesterday that call-up numbers are already being released on dashboards based on the order of registration.
- Safety Warning: The NYSC has strongly reiterated its warning against night journeys. PCMs are advised to break their journey at 6:00 PM and seek shelter at military formations, police stations, or palaces if they have not reached their destination.
Mandatory Documents for Camp
To avoid being turned back at the gate, ensure you have the following in your clear bag:
- Original Call-up Letter (Do not laminate this).
- Green Card (The online registration printout).
- Original Statement of Results/Certificates from your institution.
- Medical Fitness Certificate from a government or military hospital.
- Valid Institutional ID Card and eight passport photographs.
