- The Reassurance: During a meeting with the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai and Borno Governor Babagana Zulum, Shettima reaffirmed the Federal Government’s resolve to empower the military and ensure the families of the fallen are not abandoned.
National Reaction
The death of General Braimah has triggered a wave of “collective shame” and outrage across the country.
- Political Fallout: Rep. Bello El-Rufai labeled the deaths “inexcusable,” while former Vice President Atiku Abubakar called for a complete review of the nation’s security strategy.
- The “General” Toll: Analysts have pointed out a worrying trend; General Braimah’s death follows that of Brigadier General Sani Uba in November 2025, raising questions about the safety of high-ranking officers in the frontlines.
