Nigeria’s IMPACT Project: Jide Kosoko Joins Federal Government Malaria Sensitization Tour.

Veteran Nollywood actor and Oloja-Elect of Lagos, Prince Jide Kosoko, has officially partnered with the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare to spearhead a new grassroots advocacy drive ahead of World Malaria Day on April 25, 2026. During a high-profile visit to the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Salako, in Abuja on Friday, April 17, Kosoko committed his platform to the “IMPACT Project” to bolster community participation in the government’s “Rethinking Malaria Strategy.”

The legendary actor is currently conducting sensitization tours across schools and health facilities in Lagos and Abuja, specifically targeting young people to promote preventive measures and encourage informed vaccine uptake as Nigeria rolls out its updated 2026–2030 National Malaria Strategic Plan. While highlighting the progress made under President Tinubu’s administration—which has seen national malaria prevalence drop significantly toward pre-elimination levels in states like Lagos—Kosoko emphasized that lasting results depend on the “Omoluabi” spirit of individual responsibility.

The campaign reinforces the Federal Government’s strict “test before treatment” policy, with Kosoko urging Nigerians to avoid presumptive treatment and rely on insecticide-treated nets and clean environments to ensure the country finally attains its malaria-free status.
