The digital space is reeling from a series of bombshell statements released by businessman Olakunle Churchill today, Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
In an extensive Instagram post, Churchill not only denied the viral rumors of a divorce from actress Rosy Meurer but took the narrative a step further by questioning the legal validity of their entire four-year union.
The “Introduction Only” Bombshell
Churchill’s primary argument is that a “divorce” is technically impossible because, according to him, a legally binding marriage never occurred:
- No Court, No Church: He stated that their union was limited to a traditional “introduction” ceremony. “There was no legally recognized marriage. There was no church wedding and no court wedding… Therefore, the idea of a ‘divorce’ is baseless from the outset,” he wrote.
- The “Mango Tree” Lawyers: Churchill dismissed the “divorce papers” circulating on blogs as fraudulent, accusing Rosy of being misled by “unqualified legal practitioners who operate under a mango tree” and claim to produce documents overnight.
- The Service Claim: He maintained he was never formally served with any legal papers, a mandatory step in any legitimate Nigerian divorce process.
Devaluing the “Stood By Me” Narrative
In a move that has shocked many, Churchill also downplayed the long-standing public perception that Rosy Meurer was his “rock” during his messy fallout with ex-wife Tonto Dikeh:
- “Anyone Else Could Have Been There”: He explicitly rejected the idea that Rosy’s support was extraordinary. “I do not agree with the narrative that Rosy ‘stood by me’ in a way that should now be exaggerated… if she had not been there, someone else would have occupied that position in my life,” he stated.
The Tonto Dikeh Factor: A New Peace
Perhaps the most surprising part of the statement was Churchill’s warm tone regarding his ex-wife, Tonto Dikeh:
- Forgiveness Found: Following recent sightings of the former couple spending time together with their son, King Andre, Churchill confirmed they have moved past their issues.
- Mutual Respect: He noted that both have chosen to forgive each other and that he believes Tonto has “changed and is now in a better place.”
