The regulatory body announced the disciplinary action after the footage, which circulated widely online, sparked heated reactions and public outcry across the state for allegedly violating local cultural and moral standards.
In an official statement addressing the sanction, the board clarified that the suspension serves as a firm measure to safeguard the region’s rich societal values and preserve the artistic reputation of the Hausa film industry. During this twelve-month disciplinary period, filmmakers, production houses, and industry stakeholders are completely barred from collaborating with or hiring the two affected actors. The regulatory authority strongly warned that any individual or production outfit that breaches this active suspension order will face severe legal repercussions, including immediate prosecution in a court of law.
