Atiku Abubakar’s Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, has demanded the immediate resignation of President Bola Tinubu over the administration’s failure to tackle Nigeria’s escalating insecurity. Speaking on Arise Television, Ibe argued that the primary constitutional duty of any government is ensuring the security and welfare of citizens, declaring that Nigeria is significantly less secure today than in 2023. Citing alarming statistics, he claimed that 879 people have been killed while nearly 300 others remain in captivity, painting a frightening picture of pervasive nationwide insecurity. Ibe heavily criticized the government’s current counter-terrorism efforts as highly insufficient, stating that the nation can no longer tolerate a “trial and error” approach to national governance. Labeling President Tinubu incompetent and clueless, the opposition spokesperson emphasized that stepping down from office would be the most patriotic action to halt the country’s severe security decline.
