Ojukwu Property Saga: Firm Raises Alarm Over Repeatedly Missing Court Files

Ojukwu Transport Limited (OTL) has raised critical concerns over what it described as the repeated, suspicious absence of vital court records in its high-stakes, ongoing property dispute with Bianca Ojukwu and her sons, even as the company moves aggressively to file a motion for stay of execution pending the formal determination of its judicial appeal. Proceedings before Justice A.M. Lawal of the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja on Monday were completely stalled for the second consecutive time in just six weeks due to the total unavailability of the primary case file, which was reportedly not returned to the courtroom after allegedly being moved from the Ikeja Judicial Division to Lagos Island more than two months ago for the execution of a warrant. A highly similar, frustrating situation played out on May 8, 2026, when the multi-billion naira estate case could not proceed for the exact same reason, notably occurring while the claimants’ legal representatives were completely absent from court on both scheduled occasions. Describing the troubling development as a severe hit to judicial accountability, OTL—represented in court by one of its prominent directors, Dr. P. Ike Ojukwu, alongside defense counsels Ifeanyi Okumah Esq and Chief O. Ugolo, SAN—disclosed that the application for a stay of execution at the Court of Appeal became absolutely necessary because aggressive steps were already being taken to enforce a 2022 judgment in Suit No. LD/1539/2012 despite their pending appeal, further contending that the premium properties in dispute had previously been the subject of a separate warrant of execution arising from a 2018 judgment delivered by Justice Adedayo Oyebanji in Suit No. LD/794/2011. Following the persistent administrative delays and missing files, the complex legal battle involving the iconic Ikemba Odumegwu Ojukwu estate has been officially adjourned to October 8, 2026, leaving Bianca Ojukwu and her sons’ legal team, led by Nick Omeye Esq and Co, to face the defense at the next premium hearing.
