“Olodo Uprising!” — Social Media Reacts as Babcock University Drags Carter Efe Over Fake Academic Documents

Reputable Nigerian skit maker Oderohiwo Joseph Efe, popularly known as Carter Efe, has landed himself in serious trouble after Babcock University threatened strict legal action against him over a fraudulent academic certificate circulating online. Following rapper Ycee’s recent viral statement regarding an “Olodo Uprising” in Nigeria, Carter Efe claimed during a live stream session that the private institution had awarded him an honorary certificate, a claim the university has now explicitly distanced itself from via a press statement on its official Instagram page. Babcock clarified that the purported document claiming to award him a “First Class Upper” is completely fake and did not originate from the school, adding that it does not issue honorary certificates for undergraduate academic performance and does not even use the degree classification “First Class Upper” as its highest academic certification is strictly First Class Honours. Urging employers and the general public to verify all credentials through the Office of the Registrar, the institution’s disclaimer sparked massive reactions across social media, with many users mocking the content creator for bringing unnecessary trouble upon himself and others demanding his immediate arrest and prosecution for forgery.
