Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has strongly urged political actors to stop the trend of politicizing judicial rulings, emphasizing that confidence in the legal system is essential for the stability of Nigeria’s democracy. Speaking during an exclusive interview, Governor Sani addressed the recent Federal High Court decision regarding the registration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), noting that it is hypocritical for politicians to celebrate the judiciary only when rulings favor them while condemning the institution when decisions do not align with their interests. The governor pointedly recalled the political history of the NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, reminding critics that Obi himself was a beneficiary of a landmark judicial pronouncement during his time as the governor of Anambra State. Governor Sani further dismissed allegations that the ruling All Progressives Congress or President Bola Tinubu’s administration is orchestrating the internal crises currently plaguing opposition parties, asserting instead that these conflicts stem from a lack of internal organization and ongoing power struggles over presidential ambitions rather than external interference. He concluded by reiterating that while the judiciary is not perfect, true democrats must maintain their faith in the system to ensure the country’s continued progress.
