The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Osigwe (SAN), has urged legal practitioners and ordinary citizens across the country to stand out, step out of their comfort zones, and actively champion practical solutions to Nigeria’s pressing socioeconomic and security challenges rather than merely complaining about them. Speaking during the official unveiling ceremony of the logo and theme for the 2026 NBA Annual General Conference (AGC) held at the NBA House in Abuja, Osigwe, alongside the conference planning committee chairman, Mohammed Abdul (SAN), unveiled the bold theme “Beyond Limit,” symbolized by a mountain peak to mirror the trials humanity overcame to conquer Mount Everest.
The NBA leadership emphasized that this year’s movement is a critical call to action designed to push past outdated systems, societal expectations, divisions, and complacency, especially at a time when the nation faces severe economic hardships, massive abductions of school children, and international scrutiny. To directly support younger practitioners navigating these tough times, the association also commissioned the newly named Kanu Agabi (SAN) co-working space on the first floor of the NBA House to serve as a temporary office for young lawyers and those visiting Abuja for cases, with the Bar reiterating that legal professionals must lead with boldness, dismantle mental and political obstacles, and rewrite the narrative of nation-building through absolute integrity and rule of law.
