The Zamfara State Government has firmly reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance against negotiating with criminal syndicates, declaring that it will not engage in any dialogue or amnesty deals with bandits terrorizing local communities. Governor Dauda Lawal insisted that prior peace pacts only emboldened terrorists, stating that the government will rely strictly on aggressive military kinetic operations to wipe out criminal hideouts across northwestern forests. This strong administrative declaration coincides with major breakthroughs by joint security forces, who successfully rescued dozens of stranded kidnap victims in Kwara and Borno states. In Kwara, tactical police operatives stormed a dense forest boundary to liberate several commuters abducted along a commercial highway, neutralizing two armed bandits during a fierce gun duel. Concurrently, in Borno State, the Nigerian Army’s Operation Hadin Kai rescued women and children held captive by remnants of Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents during an extensive clearance operation in the Sambisa fringe. The military high command confirmed that all rescued individuals have undergone thorough medical screenings and trauma profiling before being reunited with their families, urging states to maintain this unyielding, non-negotiable approach to eliminate the country’s kidnapping scourge.
