IPAC Inaugurates Nine-Member Executive Committee in Osun State

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has inaugurated a new nine-member executive committee in Osun State as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration among registered political parties and promote a peaceful democratic process. The newly constituted leadership was charged with fostering dialogue, encouraging political tolerance, and ensuring effective coordination among member parties ahead of future electoral activities. During the inauguration ceremony, IPAC officials emphasised the importance of unity, mutual respect, and adherence to democratic principles, urging the new executive members to carry out their responsibilities with fairness, transparency, and impartiality. They noted that the council plays a vital role in promoting constructive engagement between political parties, electoral stakeholders, and government institutions, while also serving as a platform for resolving disputes through dialogue rather than confrontation. The new executive committee pledged to uphold the objectives of the council by encouraging issue-based politics, peaceful campaigns, and greater participation in democratic processes across Osun State. Political analysts observed that IPAC continues to play an important role in strengthening Nigeria’s multiparty democracy by promoting cooperation among political parties regardless of ideological differences. They added that effective leadership within the council could contribute to reducing political tension, enhancing voter confidence, and supporting free, fair, and credible elections. Stakeholders also encouraged political parties to respect the rule of law, electoral guidelines, and the rights of opponents throughout future electioneering activities. As political engagements gradually increase ahead of forthcoming elections, observers stressed the need for sustained dialogue, responsible leadership, and collaboration among all stakeholders to preserve peace and democratic stability. The inauguration of the nine-member executive committee reflects IPAC’s continued commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, encouraging political inclusiveness, and supporting a transparent electoral process that advances good governance and public confidence in Osun State.
