Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has donated land for the establishment of a Digital Fabrication Centre by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), in a move aimed at strengthening technical education, innovation, and skills development in the state. The proposed centre is expected to provide young people and other trainees with access to modern digital fabrication technologies and practical training that can prepare them for opportunities in manufacturing, engineering, technology, and other emerging industries. The initiative is part of broader efforts to equip the workforce with practical skills capable of supporting industrial development and improving employment opportunities. Digital fabrication combines computer-based design with modern production technologies, allowing trainees to develop products and prototypes using advanced equipment and techniques. Education and industry stakeholders have welcomed the proposed facility, noting that stronger technical training is essential for reducing skills gaps and preparing young Nigerians for an increasingly technology-driven economy. They stressed that facilities of this nature can help bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical industry requirements by exposing trainees to modern tools and production methods.
