A wave of shock has swept through elite social circles following revelations surrounding the tragic death of wealthy British-Nigerian businessman and social media influencer Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo (widely known as Ego or Denisi).
An inquest at the Inner West London Coroner’s Court officially established that the 43-year-old influencer died from a fatal pulmonary embolism triggered by a cosmetic penis enlargement procedure he underwent in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ubiribo, known for his extravagant lifestyle, high-end properties, and close ties to Nigerian entertainment heavyweights like Afrobeats star Davido, was vacationing in Thailand with his wife, fashion designer Danielle Simba Allen, when he visited an unnamed clinic to receive approximately 40 milliliters of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine injections.
According to evidence presented during the coroner’s hearing, disaster struck shortly after the procedure while the couple was out getting a massage. Ubiribo began complaining of severe chest pains and lost consciousness twice. He was rushed by ambulance to Sukhumvit Hospital, where doctors quickly suspected a pulmonary embolism—a dangerous blockage in the blood vessels supplying the lungs.
Despite frantic efforts by medical personnel who performed CPR for over 100 minutes, Ubiribo passed away in the early hours of March 6. A subsequent post-mortem examination conducted in the UK found cellular material matching the hyaluronic acid filler trapped inside his lungs, prompting Assistant Coroner Jean Harkin to formally rule his death the result of a cosmetic procedure gone wrong.
Ubiribo was later laid to rest in London during a high-profile funeral attended by close friends, including Davido and celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest. The shocking details of his inquest have since gone viral, serving as a sobering, high-profile warning regarding the severe and hidden medical risks tied to unregulated or elective cosmetic procedures abroad.
