Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has officially fulfilled her ₦10 million financial pledge to support the education of Morenikeji Ebunoluwa Joshua, a talented 12-year-old artist from Ogun State.
The heartwarming fulfillment comes less than a month after the young prodigy captured national attention during the launch of the South-West Zonal National Food Bank Programme in Abeokuta. Spotting a striking portrait he had painted of her amidst the crowd, an impressed First Lady promptly invited the primary school student to the podium and made the landmark educational commitment.
During a formal presentation ceremony overseen by Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, a representative of the First Lady handed over the ₦10 million Education Development Trust Fund. Governor Abiodun revealed that a dedicated bank account has already been opened to lock down the funds exclusively for Joshua’s academic journey through the tertiary level, complementing an earlier primary and secondary scholarship.
“This gesture goes beyond the financial value; it is an investment in a young Nigerian whose talent has been identified and encouraged. Joshua wanted to be seen and heard, and this proves that young talents are valued,” Governor Abiodun noted.
An ecstatic Joshua expressed profound gratitude to Senator Tinubu, using the moment to encourage fellow young creatives to relentlessly pursue and showcase their God-given gifts.
