Lagos foodies and culture enthusiasts are gearing up for another massive celebration of Southwestern heritage as the Amala & Palm Wine Festival officially prepares for its explosive return.
Following a wildly successful debut that pulled in over 2,500 attendees, the organizers have announced that the second edition will take place on Sunday, December 13, 2026, moving back to The Stables in Surulere, Lagos. Headlining this year’s cultural showcase is the promise of cooking up the “biggest pot of Amala yet,” alongside free-flowing fresh palm wine and an expanded lineup of indigenous music, games, and lifestyle activations.
Babatunde Afolabi, CEO of Black Boy Afrika Group and convener of the festival, noted that the event aims to lean even deeper into the communal spirit that defines Yoruba social gatherings.
“Last year was explosive. Having over 2,500 people come together to celebrate was incredible. It showed us that people genuinely want experiences that connect them with our culture. This year, we are taking it several steps further with the biggest pot of Amala yet, bigger entertainment, and more immersive experiences,” Afolabi stated.
Designed to celebrate more than just a meal, the festival bridges generations by blending traditional culinary arts with modern entertainment, positioning Amala and palm wine as central pillars of community, laughter, and shared heritage.
