Nigeria’s quest to attract massive global capital into its energy sector just received a major boost! Key industry powerhouses—including the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), and the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC)—have officially joined the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission’s (RMAFC) planning committee for the upcoming China Oil and Gas Investment Summit.
Tentatively scheduled for late November in Beijing, the summit aims to directly pitch lucrative opportunities across Nigeria’s oil and gas value chain to top Asian investors. Led by RMAFC’s Investment Monitoring Committee Chairman, Dr. Ekene Enefe, the multi-agency committee met at the Abuja headquarters to build a unified strategy for securing high-value deals, advancing local content, and driving sustainable revenue to the Federation Account.
With Nigeria sitting on an estimated 215 trillion cubic feet of natural gas reserves, the timing couldn’t be better. Energy experts emphasize that moving from domestic consumption focus to robust global partnerships is essential for economic growth. China’s financial muscle and technological expertise make it a prime target for pipeline infrastructure, deep-sea exploration, and gas processing deals.
By uniting key regulators, trade ministries, and investment promoters into one powerful committee, Nigeria is sending a clear message to the international business community: the country is open, organized, and ready for serious energy investments.
