US President Donald Trump has officially declared war on the term “Artificial Intelligence,” announcing at the United Nations General Assembly that the technology will now be referred to as “Super Intelligence” (SI) across official US government documents.
Explaining the sudden rebranding effort, Trump argued that the word “artificial” feels inaccurate and ineloquent, making cutting-edge technology sound “fake” rather than powerful. “From this point forward, all United States documents, and hopefully the world’s, will be changed to use the much more accurate term ‘super’ as opposed to artificial,” Trump declared during his address, insisting that “Super Intelligence” better captures the unprecedented scale of the sector.
The name change follows a series of social media polls on Truth Social and X, where Trump floated alternatives like “Superior Intelligence” and “Extreme Intelligence” before ultimately settling on “Super Intelligence”. The move comes alongside his announcement to form a dedicated “AI Force” and appoint an official “AI Czar” to oversee national tech dominance.
Doubling down on his stance, Trump dismissed safety warnings surrounding the technology as a “hoax,” asserting that the US will not stifle growth in an industry bigger than the Industrial Revolution. “Whoever wins super intelligence wins,” he emphasized, declaring that America will maintain its lead over global rivals like China.
