The groundbreaking digital initiative, officially unveiled in Abuja by Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Senator George Akume, was developed through a strategic partnership between the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) and private-sector tech giant Zinox Group. Set to officially go live on October 1, the specialized online store operates via the popular Konga e-commerce network, allowing verified servicemen and women to order everyday groceries, home electronics, kitchen appliances, and fashion items directly to their doorsteps at rates far below prevailing market prices.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Olufemi Oluyede highlighted the platform as a core component of the military’s “Soldier First” leadership vision, aimed at cushioning current inflationary pressures and rewarding the immense sacrifices of national defense forces. To guarantee that only genuine service members benefit, DHQ established a rigorous four-step digital verification system. General Oluyede further revealed that this digital shop is just the beginning, with ongoing negotiations to partner with industrial giants like Dangote Group and BUA to offer discounted building materials, alongside upcoming physical military discount stores across major barracks nationwide.
