Relief and excitement have swept through tertiary institutions across Nigeria as the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) officially restored access to its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) portal for the 2026 academic session!
Following the brief system update and maintenance pause, JAMB directed all federal, state, and private universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education to immediately resume uploading and processing candidate admission lists. The board urged institutional admission officers to expedite the entire clearance process to ensure candidates do not suffer unnecessary academic calendar delays.
With the portal fully operational again, hundreds of thousands of admission seekers can now log into their JAMB e-Facility profiles to monitor their progress, upload missing O’Level results, and accept or reject offered admission seats. JAMB stressed that all admissions MUST strictly follow the approved guidelines via CAPS to be considered valid, warning candidates against paying money to fraudulent agents or accepting unofficial paper admissions outside the portal.
The board also reminded tertiary institutions to maintain total transparency during the selection process, ensuring candidates who met cut-off marks and screening requirements are promptly offered admission. As candidates flood the online portal to check their statuses, the restoration of CAPS signals that the 2026 admission season is officially in full gear!
