Yoruba comic actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has sparked major social media waves after publicly labeling Bolaji Amusan (Mr Latin), the president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), an “opportunist”.
Speaking at a recent event in Ogun State, the controversial actor vented his frustration over how the TAMPAN leader allegedly avoided him following his release from prison. Baba Ijesha revealed that he placed more than 25 phone calls to Mr Latin to touch base, but was repeatedly rebuffed with claims that the association president was busy in meetings.
“Mr Latin, you need to calm down. You are an opportunist,” Baba Ijesha declared in the viral clip. While acknowledging that Mr Latin is fundamentally a good person, he argued that the TAMPAN leader allowed fear of public backlash and negative perception to dictate his actions. According to Baba Ijesha, the president distanced himself purely out of concern for his public image rather than genuine principle.
