American hip-hop mogul William Leonard Roberts II, popularly known as Rick Ross, has landed in major legal trouble after being arrested in Miami Beach, Florida, on serious domestic violence charges.
According to Miami-Dade jail and court records, the 50-year-old rap icon was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center early Thursday morning. Ross faces two counts: a felony count of battery by strangulation alongside a misdemeanor count of battery. The arrest follows recent social media posts by his ex-girlfriend, model and content creator Jazzma Kendrick, who publicly shared images of facial injuries and accused the rapper of physical assault.
During his initial court appearance, Judge Mindy Glazer set Ross’s total bond at $6,000—comprising $5,000 for the felony battery count and $1,000 for the misdemeanor. The court also issued a strict stay-away order prohibiting the rapper from contacting the alleged victim directly or through social media channels.
Rick Ross’s defense attorney, Bradley Horenstein, has strongly denied all allegations, asserting that the claims are completely false and maintaining that his client is innocent. “We just ask that you allow the process to play out before rushing to judgment, because the truth will come out,” Horenstein stated to news outlets.
With the Maybach Music Group founder posted on bail, legal representatives are preparing for his formal arraignment hearing scheduled for October 22, 2026. The shocking development has sparked intense conversations across the global hip-hop community and online music forums
