Super Eagles forward Tolu Arokodare has received ringing endorsement from legendary Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who hailed the Nigerian star as a “dangerous focal point” and a serious threat to opposition defenders in the Eredivisie.
Since completing his move to Dutch giants AFC Ajax, the 25-year-old towering frontman has hit the ground running in spectacular fashion. Arokodare has already notched six goals and two assists in nine appearances across all competitions, effectively silencing critics after his difficult spell in England with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Speaking on Voetbal International’s Pak Schaal Podcast, former Ajax, Schalke, and Real Madrid goal-scorer Huntelaar praised the Nigerian’s physical presence, instincts, and immediate influence on the pitch. “I think Tolu is doing well. He has scored his goals and is dangerous as a focal point when he is on the pitch,” Huntelaar noted, highlighting Arokodare’s ability to unsettle backlines and hold up play.
Arokodare’s fiery club revival has also paid dividends on the international stage. His prolific form earned him a recall to the Super Eagles squad for September’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
As Ajax continues its domestic and European campaign, the former KRC Genk goal-king looks primed to keep punishing defenders and solidifying his place as one of Nigeria’s hottest attacking exports.
