“Abuja Court Drama!” — Federal High Court Strikes Out Charges Against Alleged Fake DG Adeniyi Adeyemi

Justice Mohammed Garba Umar of the Federal High Court has officially struck out the eight-count criminal charge brought against Adeniyi Adeyemi, the alleged fake Director-General of the “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council” (PFIPC)!

The court terminated the trial following an urgent application by the Federal Government, after a comprehensive case review carried out by the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, exposed critical jurisdictional loopholes in the original prosecution file.

Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation (DPPF), Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, explained in court that the documents Adeyemi allegedly forged while operating the illegal agency fall strictly under the jurisdiction of the FCT High Court, rather than the Federal High Court where the case was initially brought by the Inspector General of Police.

With defense counsel Ibrahim Angulu, SAN, raising no objections to the prosecution’s request, Justice Umar struck out the charges, effectively bringing proceedings before the Federal High Court to an end.

However, legal experts note that Adeyemi is far from clear of his legal troubles—the Federal Government confirmed that a fresh charge has already been filed at the High Court of the FCT, where he will be re-arraigned without delay.
