Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has officially dissolved the State Executive Council ahead of his highly anticipated second-term inauguration scheduled for Friday, October 16!
The governor announced the cabinet dissolution during a lively and emotional valedictory session at the Governor’s Office in Ado-Ekiti, which featured songs of praise, reflections, and the cutting of a commemorative valedictory cake.
However, the political reset does not affect three top kitchen-cabinet officials: Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, Chief of Staff Mr. Oyeniyi Adebayo, and Chief Press Secretary (CPS) Mr. Yinka Oyebode, who have all been retained in their respective roles.
Addressing the outgoing commissioners and special advisers, Governor Oyebanji expressed profound gratitude for their dedication and selfless service over the past four years, attributing his administration’s developmental breakthroughs and subsequent June 2026 re-election victory to their collective teamwork.
The dissolution follows the standard constitutional protocol, clearing the deck for the governor to assemble a fresh administrative team as he prepares to kick off his second four-year tenure at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion.
