Davido Makes Fresh Grammy Push With Multiple Submissions for 2027 Awards

Davido’s collaboration “Nakupenda,” featuring TxC, Zlatan, Shoday, Scotts Maphuma and Al Xapo, was reportedly submitted for Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance. Meanwhile, “Le Show,” featuring Ayra Starr and French Montana, was entered for Best African Music Performance, while “I Know Who I Be,” featuring JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay, was submitted for Best Music Video.

The multiple submissions underline Davido’s continued ambition to earn recognition from the Recording Academy and further strengthen Afrobeats’ presence on the global stage. The singer previously received Grammy nominations for his album Timeless and songs “Unavailable” and “Feel” at the 2024 awards.

However, fans should note that submitting a song or album does not automatically guarantee a nomination. Entries must go through the Recording Academy’s eligibility and screening process before nominees are confirmed.

The 2027 Grammy nominations are expected to be announced on November 16, 2026, with the awards ceremony scheduled for February 7, 2027. As anticipation builds, Davido’s supporters will be watching closely to see which of his submissions make the final list.

Will Davido finally add a Grammy win to his growing list of achievements? Afrobeats fans will have to wait for the official nominations to find out.
